প্রেসিডেন্সি কলেজের স্নাতক সোনালী মিত্রের ছোটবেলা থেকেই বাংলা সাহিত্যের প্রতি এক দুর্বার আগ্রহ যা তার বাবা ডক্টর: দীপক কুমার বসু এবং স্বনামধন্য লেখক জ্যাঠা মতি নন্দীর অনুপ্রেরণাতে নির্দিষ্ট পথে পরিচালিত হয়। স্নাতকোত্তর ডিগ্রী অর্জনের পর তিনি বেশ কিছু বছর শিক্ষকতা পেশার সাথে যুক্ত ছিলেন কিন্তু বর্তমানে তিনি সম্পূর্ণভাবে শিল্প,সাহিত্য ও সংস্কৃতির বিভিন্ন বিভাগের সাথে ওতপ্রোতভাবে যুক্ত।
